Dear Minister Griffin,

I’m writing to you as a concerned voter.

Please ensure there is a transparent public consultation for Lendlease’s planned development at Mt Gilead in Western Sydney as it threatens the survival of one of the last remaining healthy koala colonies in NSW.

The NSW Government’s environmental protection body, the Environment and Heritage Group wrote to DPE in late December stating that the (current) Lendlease proposal is inconsistent with recommendations contained in the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer advice and subsequent expert reports.

If the development goes ahead in its current state, it will have a net negative impact on koalas.

Minister Griffin, please ensure there is a transparent consultation from a biodiversity perspective. If not for your legacy as the NSW Environment Minister, but for the sake of one of the last remaining healthy koala colonies in NSW.

Kind regards,
(Insert name)
