Keeping you informed: Strengthening our governance
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), which oversees the superannuation industry, has informed us to engage an independent third-party expert to undertake a review of some related-party arrangements that exist between our parent company Australian Ethical Investment Ltd and the trustee of the Australian Ethical super fund.
In recent years APRA has placed a broad and increasing emphasis on the governance and oversight of all superannuation funds and as you’d expect we’ve also focused on lifting our standards.
We fully support APRA’s focus on strong governance particularly for related party arrangements. Over the past year we’ve taken steps to renew the Australian Ethical Superannuation Trustee board composition, enhance our conflict management protocols, and with the support of an external adviser, we have been independently validating key frameworks.
What does this mean for you?
Your retirement savings remain safe and secure. Your best financial interests continue to be front of mind in what we do.
Why are we doing this?
Good governance builds trust and accountability. We’re committed to working with APRA to address their expectations quickly and transparently.

We’ve also issued an ASX announcement and have emailed all our members about the APRA review and the engagement of an independent third party. Transparency matters to us, and we want you to feel informed and confident.
Thank you for trusting us with your financial future. We’ll keep striving every day to deliver on our promise to invest for a better world, where money is a force for good.
