Legal effect of documentation

This website does not take the place of the legal document known as the ‘Trust Constitution’ which governs the operation of the managed funds. The Trust Constitution is binding on the responsible entity, Australian Ethical Investment Ltd and the unitholders. If any dispute arises concerning any aspect of the managed funds, the Trust Constitution (and the law) will always be the final authority. A copy of the Trust Constitution is available for inspection from Australian Ethical Investment Ltd.

This website does not take the place of the legal document known as the Trust Deed which governs the operation of Australian Ethical Superannuation. The Trust Deed is binding on the Trustee, employer sponsors and members of Australian Ethical Superannuation. If any dispute arises concerning benefits or any other aspect of the Australian Ethical Superannuation, the Trust Deed (and the law) will always be the final authority. A copy of the Trust Deed is available for inspection from Australian Ethical Superannuation Pty Ltd.

Calculations of returns

For superannuation:

  • Total returns take into account ongoing management fees and superannuation expenses.
  • Total returns are calculated taking into account taxation on super fund earnings and capital gains. Total returns are based on an investment of $10,000 (pensions based on $30,000) at the inception of each investment strategy.
  • Performance figures for each investment strategy assume an investment in that strategy only.

For managed funds:

  • Total returns take into account ongoing management fees and managed funds expenses.
  • Total returns are calculated as if distributions of income have been reinvested and are calculated using exit prices. They do not take tax into account.

Figures showing a period of less than one year have not been adjusted to show an annual total return. Figures for periods of greater than one year are on a per annum compound basis.

The full portfolio listings are intentionally dated in order to protect Australian Ethical’s intellectual property.

Applications to invest

Applications to invest in superannuation or the managed funds can only be accepted if you live in Australia or New Zealand and must be made in Australian Dollars. If you are a New Zealand investor you must also obtain a copy of the New Zealand product guide (PDS).
